Valentine’s Day

So every year, the Mesilla Valley Casa has their annual Valentine’s Day banquet. I was again fortunate enough to document the event for them this year. They had some fun entertainment (Michael Finney was there, a hilarious magic act!), and it is for a great cause. MVC are advocates for kids in the foster care system. So I love when this banquet descends upon Las Cruces and I get to photograph the event. So a few pics from the event…

For the Heart Gallery

Every once in a while an oppertunity comes a long that is just too good to pass up.  Last week I was contacted by the founder of the Heart Gallery.  She gave me the run down of what they were and what they did, and invited me to a part of it.  I agreed, and then was informed an event was coming up in 4 days that she wondered if even given the short notice I could make it to, I agreed again.  So on Saturday I packed up a small “studio” (a backdrop and my cameras) and went to where they were filming kids that were up for adoption and then I proceeded to take images of them for the Heart Gallery.  Well one of the little girls was interested in the process of my photos, and that in turn impressed me.  She was shy and timid but very sweet, and the highlight of the even (There were many) was the same girl telling me “I hope I get adopted by parents who spoil me”.  That just touched me so much, what a great experience.

Operation Love ReUnited

I had the honor this weekend of participating in a huge event at Ft. Bliss, Texas.  Many photographers came in from around the country to help support one of the largest photo shoots ever for Operation Love Reunited.  This was a wonderful experience and I look forward to support OpLove.org in the future.  Here is one of my favorites from the session, there were many images, of many families with many children.  Each of these soldiers are about to be deployed so the emotional impact having a wonderful photo of their beautiful wives, lovely kids is priceless and I am of glad to be a part of this event.
